How to disable and enable IE proxy settings

If your computer is setup to access the Internet via Protex, you will need to change your proxy settings if you want to access the Internet from a different network.

An example of when you would want to do this is if your computer is setup to access the Internet through Protex at School, but you also need to access the Internet from a different network eg a home network. When at home, you will need to disable your proxy settings

How to disable Internet Explorer Proxy settings

1) Open Internet Explorer, and select Tools from the menu bar

2) Select Internet options

3) Select the Connections Tab

4) Select LAN Settings

5) Untick the check box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN

6) Click OK

 

How to enable the Protex proxy in Internet Explorer

When your computer is back on the school network, you will need to enable the Proxy server to access the Internet.

To do this simply follow the above instructions, and tick the check box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN.
