Zynstra software upgrade (v2.7) requires re-issuing of end user VPN certificates

This only applies to users who use the Zynstra end user VPN

The v2.7 Zynstra software upgrade includes an upgrade to the latest version of the Gateway Control Console.

Because of this upgrade, the end user VPN configuration files and certificates need to be re-issued and distributed to all users. This article will explain how to obtain the new certificates, and how to re-install them on the end users computers.

Once the upgrade has been completed, you will receive an email from a Zynstra Engineer to tell you where the new end user VPN certificates are. (They will be on the file server, in a share called OpenVPN.)

Follow these steps to reinstall the VPN configuration and certificates to all users who use the End user VPN:

1) On the users local computer, delete the old VPN configuration files from C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\Config. The Config folder should now be empty.

2) Browse to the share where the users VPN configuration files have been put, and identify the VPN configuration zip file for the user. The file is named: openvpn-username-config.zip

3) Copy the ZIP file from the Share to the users local computer, and extract the zip file to here: C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config\

4) Start the OpenVPN client, and test you can connect OK.

Zynstra Engineers are available to help you with any questions you have. Please raise a new support request if you have any questions.
